Frequently Asked Questions
Does AmScope price match other retailers?
Yes, AmScope's own FAQ and terms confirm it will match an identical item found listed cheaper elsewhere. Before a large microscope purchase, it's worth checking a competitor's price and having it ready, since a successful match can beat what any storewide promo code offers.
Can I combine a promo code with clearance or open box pricing?
No. AmScope's FAQ specifically excludes clearance products, open box items and products already reduced in price from receiving an additional promotional discount, and certain bundles are excluded as well.
What is AmScope's return window?
Customers have 30 days from the date they receive their order to request a Return Merchandise Authorization through AmScope's RMA form. Returns without an authorized RMA are not accepted, and simply requesting one within the window doesn't extend the return period further.
Who pays for AmScope return shipping?
The customer, unless the product is defective. AmScope recommends keeping the original packaging materials so the item stays secure and eligible for a full refund during transit back.
What if my AmScope order arrives with a missing or wrong item?
Contact AmScope's support team within 7 days of delivery. It's worth double checking all packaging first, since smaller components are sometimes packed separately and mistaken for missing.
What if I receive a defective microscope or accessory?
Reach out within 7 days of delivery. AmScope may ask for photos to confirm the defect before providing return or replacement instructions.
What warranty comes with an AmScope purchase?
Microscopes carry a five year warranty against manufacturing defects. Telescopes carry one year, and accessories like cameras and illuminators are covered for one year as well, with coverage on items shipped directly from another manufacturer sometimes varying, so it's worth checking the specific product listing.
Does AmScope offer payment terms for schools?
Yes, approved public educational institutions and organizations within the United States can use NET 30 terms. Other orders must be prepaid in full by credit card, company check or bank wire transfer.
How do I know if my AmScope promo code applies to my cart?
Read the promotion banner carefully, since exclusions vary by sale. Codes typically won't stack with items already marked down.
