Frequently Asked Questions
Does Animoto have a free plan?
Yes, Animoto's free plan includes core features, 720p video quality, unlimited video creation and social sharing, screen and webcam recording, 50 licensed music tracks, and 1GB of cloud storage, though videos carry an Animoto watermark.
Is it cheaper to pay for Animoto monthly or annually?
Can I stack an Animoto promo code with the annual plan discount?
Yes, the annual plan's built-in savings apply on top of whatever discount code you use at checkout, and the annual rate continues at renewal as long as you don't let the code lapse. Only one promo code can be applied per order, though.
Why isn't my Animoto discount code working on the plan I want?
Many Animoto codes are restricted to a specific plan tier, like Professional or Professional Plus, and will return an error if applied to a different plan, so it's worth checking the code's fine print against the plan you've actually selected.
Does Animoto offer discounts for teachers or nonprofits?
Yes, Animoto offers discounted plans for registered non-profits, teachers, and schools, though these require contacting Animoto's customer team directly to verify eligibility rather than applying a standard promo code
Can I get a refund if I cancel my Animoto subscription?
No, Animoto's Terms of Service state that all payments are nonrefundable, including for unused portions of a billing period. If you're on the fence, it's worth using a free trial period or the Free plan first rather than committing to a paid tier.
How do I stop Animoto from renewing my subscription?
Since Animoto subscriptions are prepaid, you cancel by turning off automatic renewal in the Billing tab of your Account settings, and you'll keep access to paid features through the end of the current billing period.
What happens to my videos if I downgrade to the free plan?
Once your account converts to a Free User account, whether by cancellation, expiration, or non-payment, the free plan's content deletion policies apply, so you'll want to download anything you want to keep before your paid subscription ends.
Does Animoto have a referral discount?
Yes, referring a friend earns you one free month on your subscription once they sign up.
How often does Animoto release new discount codes?
Animoto tends to run promotions around plan upgrades and seasonal pushes like Black Friday rather than a fixed schedule, so the codes on this page rotate as those campaigns come and go.
