ClubMiles is free and enrollment is automatic when you create an account. There are four tiers: Bronze on joining, Silver after one qualifying purchase, Gold after two, Platinum after three. Silver members and above earn 1 point per dollar on standalone flights and 2 points per dollar on standalone hotels and rental cars. Gold doubles those points and Platinum triples them, and booking in the mobile app doubles them again on top of the tier multiplier. Points post roughly 30 days after travel is completed, and you need 1,000 before you can redeem. Points offset CheapOair's service fees and ancillary fees, not the fare itself. How much does CheapOair charge in booking fees?
Service fees run up to $50 per passenger on most airfares, up to $42 per hotel booking and up to $40 per car rental. Business and first class fares carry fees up to $200 per passenger, multi city and open jaw trips up to $100, and nearby airport or alternate date bookings up to $55. Booking through an agent by phone costs more, from $15 to $250 per economy passenger.
Do CheapOair promo codes actually cut the airfare?
No. Codes discount CheapOair's own service fees and Traveler Assist fees, capped at up to 70% of those fees. The airline's portion of the price is untouched, which is why a code on a cheap domestic ticket saves far less than the headline percentage suggests.
Can I cancel free within 24 hours?
Not entirely. The transaction service fee is refundable if you request cancellation within 24 hours of booking, but agent assisted cancellation in that window still costs $75 per passenger domestic and $100 international or business and first class. All cancellations have to be handled by phone.
Where do I enter a promo code?
Enter it in the promo code link on the payment page before you complete the booking. CheapOair's terms are explicit that no discount is applied after purchase for any reason, including technical errors, so confirm the total reflects the code before paying.
Can I combine more than one code?
No. CheapOair's terms state a promo code may not be combined with another offer. The one exception in its own promotion terms is that a promo code and an Instant Savings offer can be combined, but only up to the total value of the service fees.
How long does a CheapOair refund take?
Expect 30 to 90 days from the date of your request to the credit appearing on your statement, because CheapOair has to secure a waiver from the airline or supplier first. Booking fees on the original reservation are not refunded, though if the supplier declines the refund outright, CheapOair returns its post ticketing service fee.
Does CheapOair offer a military discount?
Yes, through the Compassion Exception Policy. Active duty and veterans plus immediate family get up to $35 off a new booking and 100% off CheapOair's cancellation, refund and ticket change service fees. You have to book by phone and identify yourself to the agent, and airline penalties and fare differences still apply.
