How much checked baggage do I get on Emirates flights from the US?

 Flights to and from the US use a piece system rather than a weight limit. Economy Special includes one 23 kg bag, while Saver, Flex and Flex Plus include two 23 kg bags. On flights between the US and Europe, Saver drops to one bag.

Can I cancel or change my Emirates booking?

Yes, through Manage Your Booking, but charges and refunds follow your fare conditions and some fares are not refundable. Refunds on tickets bought online go back to the card used to pay. Online changes apply to everyone on the booking, so changing one passenger means contacting Emirates or your travel agent.

How do Skywards Miles work?

Membership is free, and you earn Skywards Miles and Tier Miles flying Emirates or flydubai. Miles can pay for flights, upgrades, hotel stays, seat selection and extra baggage, or reduce the cash price through Cash+Miles. Tier Miles unlock perks like lounge access, priority boarding and baggage delivery.

Where do I enter a code at checkout?

Enter it in the promotional code field of the flight search form on emirates.com. For the student code STUDENT, log in to your Skywards account first, then search and book.

Can I combine more than one code?

Generally no. The student offer states it cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts or corporate fares unless explicitly stated, and if you qualify for several Cash+Miles rates, only the highest is applied at payment.

How does the Best Price Guarantee work?

Pay in full on emirates.com, and if the identical flight is bookable on another website for at least $20 per person less, Emirates refunds the difference. Submit the claim form by midnight on the day you booked, with a screenshot showing the final price including taxes and fees. Fares held without payment, discounted with Miles or codes, or flown on four digit codeshare flights do not qualify.

Who qualifies for the Emirates student fare?

 Full time students from their 16th birthday up to their 32nd who are Skywards members and hold a valid student ID or acceptance letter. Only one student can be booked per booking, and you must show ID at check in or the ticket is reissued at the fare difference

Saving Guide

Log in before you search Cash+Miles rates and tier offers only appear if you sign in to Skywards before choosing flights, and Cash+Miles offers do not apply to Contact Center bookings or Advanced Search. Claim any Cash+Miles rate on the payment page in the same session, because it is not guaranteed once you leave.

Choose between a code and the price guarantee Best Price does not apply when the purchased fare has been discounted by Miles, coupons or other offers, so a fare booked with the STUDENT code or paid with Miles falls outside it. If the code gives a large saving, take it. On a standard Economy fare, pay in full at booking and check other sites the same day to keep the guarantee in play.

Read the student discount as a fare percentage The student percentage comes off before taxes and surcharges and applies to selected fare categories only, so the saving on a long international ticket is smaller than the headline number. Eligibility is judged on your outbound travel date, and the flight must be used before the day you turn 32.

Lock an Economy fare while you decide Hold My Fare reserves an Economy fare free for 24 hours, and you pay later through Manage Your Booking using your booking reference. It stops the price rising, but a held fare does not qualify for Best Price until you pay in full.

Use Miles to shrink the cash, even with a small balance Cash+Miles accepts any Miles balance, so points too few for a reward flight still reduce the cash price. There is no fixed conversion rate and the payment page shows the exact one, so check it before confirming. Miles spent on seats and extras are not refunded on a voluntary cancellation.

Know which baggage system applies Flights to and from the Americas use pieces, with each bag capped at 150 cm in length plus width plus height. Bags between 150 cm and 203 cm incur oversize fees, and anything larger cannot travel as checked baggage.

Match the fare tier to how likely your plans are to change On student fares, Flex and Flex Plus allow free date changes, while Saver carries a $50 charge for travel on or after October 1, 2026, and cancellation charges may apply. A slightly higher fare can be cheaper than one date change.

Check who operates the flight Emirates flight numbers begin with EK, and four digit numbers are codeshare flights run by other airlines. If your trip starts in the US and the first airline is not Emirates, that airline's baggage rules may differ from Emirates' allowances.
