Frequently Asked Questions
Does Eastern Mountain Sports have a rewards program?
Yes, it's called EMS Rewards. Members earn 1 point for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases, and 200 points converts into a $10 reward toward a future order.
Can I use EMS Rewards along with a promo code?
Yes, EMS Rewards dollars can typically be applied in the same transaction as a valid promo code, which makes it one of the more flexible loyalty setups compared to stores that force you to pick one or the other.
Why isn't my Eastern Mountain Sports promo code working?
Codes are generally limited to one per customer and are usually eligible only on full price clothing, so if your cart includes sale items, clearance, or premium brands like The North Face or Patagonia, the discount may not apply. Coupons also don't apply to tax, shipping and handling, or the repurchase of previously returned merchandise.
Does Eastern Mountain Sports offer free shipping?
Yes, standard shipping is free on orders of $75 or more. Below that threshold, a standard shipping fee applies at checkout.
What is Eastern Mountain Sports' return policy?
Eligible unused items can be returned within EMS's stated return window, using the shipping carrier of your choice or by bringing the item into a store. Rewards members generally get a longer window to return items than non-members, so it's worth checking your account status before assuming a purchase is past the point of return.
Does Eastern Mountain Sports offer a student or military discount?
Yes, students and military members can receive a discount, typically around 20% off, verified through ID.me at checkout online or with proper ID in person at a physical store.
Does Eastern Mountain Sports offer a first responder discount?
Yes, first responders and medical professionals can receive a discount on full price items, and Veterans Advantage members can access their discount year-round both online and in-store.
Are there brands excluded from Eastern Mountain Sports promo codes?
Yes. Premium brands such as The North Face and Patagonia are commonly excluded from sitewide discounts because of how those brands price their products, and specialty gear like climbing hardware or GPS units is often excluded from promotions as well.
How often does Eastern Mountain Sports release new codes?
New codes tend to appear a few times a month, with more frequent activity around holidays and seasonal sales events, so the codes on this page are refreshed to reflect those changes.
