Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ooma offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes, hardware bought directly from Ooma can be returned within 30 days for a full refund of the device cost. The first month of service isn't refundable, and Ooma doesn't cover the cost of shipping the hardware back.
What if I bought my Ooma device from a retailer like Amazon or Best Buy instead of Ooma directly?
Ooma can't issue a refund for hardware bought through a third-party reseller. Instead, Ooma Customer Care has to cancel the service first, and the return itself goes through that retailer's own return policy.
Can I use a promo code on top of the 30-day guarantee?
Yes, the return guarantee applies regardless of whether a promo code was used on the original purchase. Using a code doesn't reduce the refund window or eligibility.
Are there discounts specific to Ooma Office for businesses?
Yes, Ooma Office promotions are often separate from residential Telo codes and can include a percentage off or a fixed dollar amount off the monthly Essentials or Pro Plus plans. Business plans are month-to-month, so a promo code doesn't lock in a long-term contract.
Does Ooma charge for shipping on the Telo?
Ooma frequently includes free shipping on Telo hardware and home security products as part of its standard promotions, though this isn't guaranteed to apply to every order or bundle. It's worth checking that a code doesn't remove an already-applied free shipping offer.
Is there a referral program?
Yes, Ooma's residential Refer a Friend program gives both the existing customer and the new signup a $20 Amazon gift card for each successful referral. This runs separately from standalone promo codes and can be used alongside them.
What happens to unused prepaid service if I cancel?
Prepaid amounts toward a service term or an account balance are generally not refunded if the service is cancelled early, according to Ooma's terms. This is worth factoring in before prepaying for a longer service term just to use a promo code.
How often does Ooma release new promo codes?
Ooma runs a fairly low volume of codes at any given time, typically just a handful active at once, with a recurring discount around $40 to $50 off Telo hardware being common. Because the volume is low, a reseller coupon through an authorized retailer can sometimes fill the gap when Ooma's own code has expired.
