Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum age to rent a car from SIXT in the US?
The standard minimum age is generally 21 in the US. New York and government rentals allow eligible drivers from age 18, while drivers under 25 are subject to an underage driver fee and vehicle category restrictions.
Can I cancel my SIXT rental for free?
Flexi bookings can generally be cancelled without a cancellation fee up to the scheduled pickup time. Prepaid bookings have different cancellation rules, including free cancellation within 24 hours of booking when pickup is still more than 48 hours away.
Where do I enter a SIXT coupon code?
Enter the voucher during the booking process on the SIXT website or app under Voucher and Bonus Program. SIXT's current help centre says vouchers apply to new Pay at Pick-up bookings and do not apply to prepaid rates.
Can I combine more than one SIXT promo code?
SIXT ONE member discounts cannot be combined with other promotional offers. Rental points can be redeemed with member discounts, but SIXT states that rental points cannot be combined with vouchers.
Does SIXT include mileage in the rental price?
The rental price includes the mileage package or unlimited mileage option selected during booking. Your confirmation shows the exact mileage allowance, while fuel and optional extras are charged separately.
Can I rent a specific car model from SIXT?
Reservations normally cover a vehicle category rather than a guaranteed model. If SIXT displays a guaranteed model option for your selected rental, choosing that option reserves the specific model subject to the applicable booking terms.
Can I return a SIXT rental to another location?
One way rentals are available between many SIXT locations in the US, although availability and additional fees depend on the route and vehicle category. Standard US one way rentals generally allow travel between locations in the continental United States.
