Frequently Asked Questions

Does Skylum offer a money back guarantee?

Yes. A license purchased directly from Skylum's site, or an upgrade of a lifetime license, can be refunded if you're not satisfied, within the period stated at purchase. This guarantee does not extend to third party products sold on Skylum's site or to non-software products

Does the refund guarantee cover subscription renewals?

No, it only applies to the first time you're billed for a subscription. After that initial charge, renewals are treated as ongoing billing rather than a fresh purchase eligible for the guarantee.

Can I cancel a Skylum subscription anytime?

Yes, canceling stops the subscription from auto-renewing, and you keep access through the end of the term you already paid for rather than losing access immediately.

Are individual presets or extension packs refundable?

Generally no, these smaller digital add-ons are typically excluded from the standard refund guarantee that applies to core software licenses

Can I combine a Skylum promo code with the loyalty discount for returning customers?

Typically not. Skylum applies one discount type per order, so if you already own an earlier product like Luminar AI and qualify for a loyalty discount on Luminar Neo, compare that against any active sitewide code and use whichever saves more.

Does Skylum offer a student or education discount?

Yes, students and educators can access a discount through verification services like Student Beans or ID.me, separate from the general public promo codes listed sitewide.

When are Skylum's biggest sales?

The Summer Sale in July and August and the Spring Sale in March tend to bring the deepest cuts, with select bundles marked down significantly compared to list price.

How is Skylum software delivered after purchase?

Digitally and instantly. There's no physical shipping wait since you receive download instructions and license activation details by email right after checkout

Saving Guide

Why the guarantee matters as much as the price:

Because Luminar Neo is often bought once and used for years, the money back guarantee on the initial license purchase functions as a real safety net, letting you try the full AI toolset before committing rather than relying only on the free trial.

Comparing loyalty pricing against sitewide codes:

Owners of arlier Skylum products like Luminar AI or Aurora HDR typically qualify for a loyalty discount on newer releases. Since discounts generally don't stack, it's worth checking your loyalty price at checkout against whatever sitewide promo code is currently active and picking whichever number is lower.

Timing a purchase around seasonal sales:

The Summer Sale and Spring Sale are historically Skylum's largest events, so if you're not in urgent need of the software, waiting for one of these windows before buying can mean a meaningfully lower price than a standard sitewide code offers the rest of the year.

Verifying student or education eligibility:

If you qualify as a student or educator, that discount path is typically separate from general promo codes and can be worth checking before applying a public code, since education pricing is often deeper.

Knowing what the refund guarantee won't cover:

Individual presets, extension packs and third party add ons are generally excluded from the standard money back guarantee, so it's worth trying the core Luminar Neo license first and treating smaller add ons as a separate, lower risk purchase decision.

Before you check out:

Confirm whether you're buying a one time license or a subscription, since only the first subscription charge is covered by the refund guarantee, and check whether a loyalty discount from a past purchase might beat the promo code you're about to apply.
