Saving Guide

Understanding the Real Cost of a Preference-Based Return

Because East Fork doesn't cover shipping on a return made simply for glaze or form preference, and pottery has to survive the trip back intact to qualify for a refund, treating a full-price purchase as a fairly firm decision, rather than a trial run, avoids an expensive round trip. Looking closely at color photos and existing owner reviews before ordering helps reduce the odds of needing to return something at all.

Shopping Seconds for Deep, Predictable Savings

Since Seconds-quality pottery is discounted around 30% off list price specifically because of minor cosmetic imperfections that don't affect function, this section is worth checking first for anyone building out a full set of everyday dinnerware where a small blemish on a plate or mug won't matter day to day. Because Seconds orders are final sale with no edits allowed after purchase, confirming the intended color and quantity carefully before checking out is essential.

Making the Most of a Single Discount Code

Because only one code applies per order and it only works on full-price items, comparing an active promo code against the built-in discount already offered by a 4-pack, set or bundle helps identify which route actually saves more on a given order. Loading a cart entirely with bundles when a code is active, expecting it to apply, is a common way to be surprised at checkout.

Building Toward the $150 Free Shipping Line

Since free shipping kicks in at $150, planning a purchase around a small collection, a set of mugs and a serving bowl instead of just one piece, often crosses that line naturally while building a more complete table setting. Given how heavy and breakable ceramic dinnerware is, clearing this threshold also meaningfully reduces the shipping cost on an order that would otherwise carry a real fee.

Packaging a Return With Real Care

Because refunds aren't issued for pottery that arrives broken due to inadequate return packaging, using sturdy boxing and generous padding, the same level of care East Fork itself uses for outbound shipments, protects the ability to actually receive that refund. This is worth treating as a genuine step in the return process rather than an afterthought.

Before You Check Out Checklist

Confirm whether the item is part of the Seconds or Sale collection before assuming it can be returned, check that a promo code isn't being applied to an already-discounted bundle, review the color and form selection carefully on any Seconds order since changes aren't possible after purchase, and aim for a $150 cart total to unlock free shipping on a heavier ceramic order.
