Where do I enter a promo code?

Enter the code at checkout when you enroll online. Kaplan lists a separate code for each course type, so use the one that matches your course.

Can I combine more than one code?

No, Kaplan states these offers cannot be combined with any other promotion or offer.

What is the Higher Score Guarantee?

In an eligible program, you can get your money back or 12 weeks of free reactivation if your official score does not improve over your baseline. You must be a first-time Kaplan student, pay in full and finish the program. You must also contact Kaplan within 60 days of your program expiration date.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, through Affirm. Monthly options start from $17 a month on the GRE On Demand course and from $50 a month on LSAT On Demand. Prequalifying with Affirm does not commit you to a purchase.

Does Kaplan offer financial assistance?

Yes. LSAT students may get up to 50% off based on their FAFSA Student Aid Index. MCAT students may get up to 60% off with an AAMC Fee Assistance Program award, or up to 50% based on their Student Aid Index.
 

Can I try Kaplan before paying?

Yes, Kaplan offers a free MCAT practice test and Prep Starter Pack, a free LSAT practice test and a 14-day LSAT On Demand trial. Free GMAT, GRE and SAT classes are also available.

Saving Guide

Match your code to your course:

Each code works only for the courses in its terms. For example, LSAT100 covers On Demand, LSAT200 covers Live Online and In Person, and LSAT300 covers Standard Tutoring and the 170+ Course. Premium Tutoring is excluded from those LSAT and MCAT offers.

Match MCAT codes to access length:

MCAT discounts rise with longer access. REG200 covers 4 months of On Demand, REG300 covers 6 months of Live Online and On Demand, and REG500 covers 12 months of Live Online and On Demand. Check your access length before you enter a code.

Use the longer MCAT window:

MCAT codes run until October 26, while LSAT, GMAT and GRE codes end October 12. If you are choosing between exams, the MCAT gives you more time to decide.

Apply for fee assistance first:

Fee Assistance can reach 50% to 60% off, which is larger than any seasonal code. Check your eligibility before you pay full price.

Spread the cost with Affirm:

Courses show a monthly payment next to the price. This does not lower the total, but it can make a higher priced Live Online or tutoring course easier to start.

Check your GI Bill eligibility:

Many LSAT and MCAT courses are approved for VA reimbursement. Apply for VA education benefits first if you have not already.

Shopping Guide

Choose a format:

Most exams offer On Demand, Live Online, In Person and tutoring options. The MCAT Live Online course includes 42 hours of livestreamed lessons and 21 full-length practice tests, including 7 from the AAMC.

Know which courses carry a score guarantee:

Kaplan adds a higher tier on select courses. MCAT 515+, LSAT 170+, GMAT 655+ and GRE 325+ guarantees apply to specific programs such as tutoring and the 515+, 170+ and 655+ courses. Standard programs carry the Higher Score Guarantee.

Check that your purchase is eligible:

Subscription based purchases and bundles such as Law School to Lawyer are not eligible for the Higher Score Guarantee. You also need a baseline, either an official score or a Kaplan proctored diagnostic.

Budget for official practice tests separately:

LSAT courses connect to 59 official practice tests through LSAC’s LawHub Advantage, which requires a $124 subscription. Factor that in alongside the course price.

Plan your prep time:

Kaplan recommends 150 to 300 hours for the LSAT and about 300 hours or more for the MCAT, starting 3 to 6 months out. For the GMAT, it suggests at least 3 months.
