How is Xero billed?

Xero is online software, so there's nothing to ship. Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel, and your invoice arrives at the end of each billing period. Prices are in USD and exclude taxes.

Can I cancel Xero and get a refund?

You can cancel at any time, but Xero requires one month's notice and you're still charged for that notice period. Refunds follow Xero's terms of use. If you cancel, your data is archived and you can get it back by reactivating within seven years.

How does the 90% off offer work?

New US customers who buy their first organization on xero.com by 11:59 pm UTC on September 30, 2026 pay 10% of the plan price for six months. After that, the regular price applies and renews monthly until you cancel. The discount covers the base plan only, not add-ons, usage fees, or payment fees.

Where do I enter the Xero offer code?

Choose a plan with a Buy now button on Xero's US pricing page. The offer terms name the code DC90626308US, and your recurring total updates in the signup steps before you enter payment details. Check that the discount shows up before you pay.

Can I combine more than one offer?

No. Xero's offer terms say the 90% off deal can't be used with, or exchanged for, any other offer. Plan on one offer per organization.

Is Xero raising its prices?

Yes, from October 1, 2026. Early goes from $25 to $27, Growing from $55 to $59, and Established from $90 to $97. Xero says existing discounts and promo codes will keep applying until they expire.

Does Xero have a free trial?

Xero's terms describe a 30 day free trial that ends earlier if you buy a subscription. If you choose to buy a paid subscription up front, you aren't eligible for a trial. The 90% off offer requires a purchase, so compare both options on the signup page.

Saving Guide

Buy before the deadline in your own time zone. The offer closes at 11:59 pm UTC on September 30, which is 7:59 pm Eastern and 4:59 pm Pacific. A purchase after that misses the 90% discount and lands on the higher October prices.

Count your monthly invoices and bills before you pick Early. Early caps you at 20 invoices and 5 bills, and the invoice limit counts both approving and sending. Transactions started by connected apps can also count toward it. You can only move to a cheaper plan a month after upgrading, so choosing too high costs you an extra month.

Set a reminder around month five. After six months the regular price applies and renews automatically. Cancelling takes a month's notice and you pay for that notice period, so waiting until month six means paying a full price month.

Budget for add-ons and fees separately. The discount applies only to the base plan. Payroll, other add-ons, invoice payment fees, and fees for non standard bill payments are charged at their normal rates from the start.

Shopping Guide

Match the plan to your workload, not your revenue. Early suits low invoice volume. Growing removes the invoice and bill limits and includes auto-reconcile. Established adds multiple currencies, project time and cost tracking, employee expense and mileage claims, and KPI analysis.

Check payroll before you commit. Xero Payroll runs on Gusto and costs $36 a month plus $6 per employee or contractor on any plan. If you need payroll from day one, add it to your cost estimate.

Inventory Plus needs Growing or higher. It's an optional add-on and isn't available on Early. Choose your plan with that in mind if you sell physical products.
