Frequently Asked Questions
Does Penn Fishing offer free shipping?
Yes, pennfishing.com currently ships every order for free with no minimum purchase required, on top of whatever sitewide discounts happen to be running.
What's the return policy on pennfishing.com orders?
You get 30 days from purchase to request a free return through Penn's online returns portal, provided the item is unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging. Once approved, a prepaid shipping label is provided, but you're responsible for dropping the package at a UPS location; without access to one, you'll cover return shipping yourself.
Does the return policy cover gear bought from another retailer?
No. Penn only processes returns for orders placed directly on pennfishing.com. Gear bought from an authorized dealer or reseller falls under that store's own return policy.
How does the warranty work if a reel breaks?
Penn reels and rods carry a one year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, though normal wear and accidental damage aren't covered. A dated proof of purchase is required, reel repairs carry a flat $10 handling fee plus parts and labor, and warranty rod replacements carry a $19.95 processing fee.
What if my exact reel model isn't serviced anymore?
Penn keeps a list of older reels it no longer repairs, but those models remain eligible for an exchange program that swaps them for a new or refurbished reel at a discounted price with a fresh one year warranty.
Is there a reward for spending more on one order?
Spending $250 or more on pennfishing.com currently earns a $25 store credit toward a future purchase, valid for 90 days and tied to signing up for the email newsletter during checkout. It's one credit per customer per transaction and doesn't combine with other promotions.
Are there ongoing discounts on specific product lines?
Penn regularly runs percentage discounts that rotate through different rod and reel series rather than applying storewide, so it's worth checking the Sale collection directly rather than assuming a generic code covers everything.
Does Penn price match with other retailers?
No, Penn doesn't price match against dealers or competitors, so a lower price elsewhere won't be honored on pennfishing.com even with a valid coupon.
