Frequently Asked Questions
Does J.McLaughlin offer a discount just for signing up for emails?
Yes, creating an account and signing up for emails gets you an immediate 15 percent off your next full price purchase, which is one of the most reliable discounts available since it does not depend on a seasonal sale being active. This discount applies to full price items rather than pieces already in the sale section.
Is there a minimum order for free shipping at J.McLaughlin?
J.McLaughlin offers free standard shipping on US orders of $150 or more, calculated before tax and after any discounts are applied. Orders under that threshold are charged standard shipping rates, so it is worth checking your cart total against the $150 mark before checkout.
What is J.McLaughlin's return window?
J.McLaughlin accepts returns within 30 days of the delivery date, and returns are complimentary when done in store. Mail returns carry a $9.95 restocking fee per order, so returning in person at a local boutique avoids that charge entirely.
Can I get a price adjustment if an item I bought goes on sale?
Yes, J.McLaughlin honors a one time price adjustment on full price merchandise that gets permanently marked down within 14 days of the ship date, provided you have the original receipt. This does not apply to items purchased during a limited time promotional event or items not bought at full price.
Does J.McLaughlin have a refer a friend program?
Yes, when you refer a friend and they make a purchase, both you and your friend receive a 50 percent off discount code for your next order. This is one of the more generous savings paths available compared to standard promo codes.
When does J.McLaughlin typically run its biggest sales?
J.McLaughlin's deepest discounts tend to cluster around the annual Sidewalk Sales in late July, an End of Summer Sale around Labor Day, and an Extra 30 percent off event in late August and early September. Timing a larger purchase around one of these windows generally beats a standalone promo code.
Are monogrammed items eligible for return at J.McLaughlin?
No, monogrammed and final sale items are not eligible for returns or exchanges, so it is worth being confident in your size and style choice before adding personalization to an order. Standard, non personalized items follow the regular 30 day return window.
Does J.McLaughlin offer exchanges by mail?
No, J.McLaughlin only processes exchanges in store where you can bring the item and packing slip to any location. For online orders where an in store visit is not possible, the standard process is to return the original item for a refund and place a new order for the size or color you want.
