Frequently Asked Questions
How does PHOOZY actually protect a phone from overheating?
The case uses a layered Chromium Thermal Barrier that reflects the large majority of the sun's heat away from the device, which keeps the internal temperature down and helps the battery avoid the rapid drain and shutdown that comes with overheating. The same insulating layer works in reverse in cold weather, helping preserve battery life when temperatures drop.
Does PHOOZY offer a military discount?
Yes, PHOOZY has offered a discount for verified active duty and veteran service members through an online verification service. You will typically need to confirm your service status through that verification step before a code is issued, rather than the discount being available with a simple email request.
Are PHOOZY cases actually waterproof?
They are water resistant rather than fully waterproof, rated to handle rain, splashes, and brief submersion, and the SinkProof design means the case floats if it ends up in water rather than sinking. For extended underwater use, a dedicated waterproof case is still the better choice.
What is the difference between the Apollo and XP3 Series?
The Apollo Series is PHOOZY's core thermal case line, while the XP3 Series adds features like a multi-point attachment system and pattern options such as camo, aimed more directly at hunters and anglers who need to clip or tether the case to gear. Both use the same thermal barrier technology, so the choice mostly comes down to how you plan to carry it.
Can I fit a wallet inside a PHOOZY case?
Most PHOOZY cases include an internal stash pocket sized for a few cards, an ID, and some cash, which is enough to skip carrying a separate wallet on a short outing. It is not designed to replace a full wallet for everyday use, more a way to keep essentials with your phone on a hike or fishing trip.
How much does a PHOOZY case actually extend battery life?
PHOOZY markets its thermal protection as extending battery life by up to three times in hot conditions, since heat is one of the main things that drains a phone's battery faster and can trigger automatic shutdowns. Results vary by phone model and how hot the environment actually is, but the core idea is that keeping the phone cooler keeps the battery working normally longer.
Does PHOOZY ever run sitewide sales?
Yes, PHOOZY periodically offers sitewide percentage off promotions, particularly around outdoor focused seasons like early summer, in addition to occasional codes tied to email sign ups. Watching for one of these broader sales tends to beat searching for a single item discount.
