Frequently Asked Questions

What is Roller Skate Nation's return policy?

Returns for a refund to your original payment method are accepted within 30 days, while returns for store credit are accepted within a longer 90 day window. Skates need to be new, unused, and returned with the original product box intact.

Can I exchange my skates for a different size?

Yes, and Roller Skate Nation covers the return shipping cost when the exchange is for a different size or color, unlike a standard return where you pay to ship the item back. The exchange window runs 90 days from purchase.

Are there fees for skates that show signs of use?

Skates returned with visible scuffs, stains, or debris can be rejected outright or charged a damage fee ranging from 20% to 50% of the item's value. Trying skates only on carpet or another soft indoor surface before deciding keeps them in returnable condition.

Do Roller Skate Nation's warranties differ by brand?

Yes. VNLA, Lenexa, Linear, and Backspin carry a 90 day manufacturer warranty, while Sure-Grip, Riedell, Roller Derby, and FILA carry a 30 day warranty. A warranty claim generally starts with the manufacturer directly rather than Roller Skate Nation itself.

How do I know if my skates are the right fit before wearing them outside?

Try them on indoors with clean socks and sit with them on your feet for a while to let the material soften and shape to your foot. If they still feel too tight or too loose after that, Roller Skate Nation will accept an exchange or return.

Can international customers return or exchange orders?

No, returns are limited to customers within the United States. International orders are final once they ship.

Why might my Roller Skate Nation coupon not apply at checkout?

Some codes are limited to specific brands, like a percentage off select Riedell or Moxi skates, and will not apply to other products in your cart. If a broader sitewide code is available, that is usually the safer bet for a mixed order.

Does Roller Skate Nation offer free shipping?

Free shipping promotions appear periodically through coupon codes rather than as a fixed standing policy, so check this page for a current free shipping code before checkout rather than assuming one is always active.

What happens if I return skates without the original box?

A $5 re-box fee applies if the original product box is missing when the return arrives. Keeping the box until you are sure about the fit avoids this extra charge.

Does Roller Skate Nation offer discounts for sale items?

Yes, the On Sale section of the site carries its own markdowns on skates and accessories, and Roller Skate Nation has also run promo codes offering an additional percentage off items already in that section.

Saving Guide

Why Fit and Condition Matter More Here Than at Most Stores:

Skates are one of the few product categories where a return can come with a real fee attached if they show any sign of wear, so the smartest savings strategy starts with getting the size right before a code even comes into play.

Stacking a Coupon With Sale Section Pricing:

Roller Skate Nation has occasionally run codes that apply an extra percentage off items already marked down in the On Sale section, which is worth checking before assuming a coupon only works on full price gear. Confirm the code's terms, since not every sitewide offer extends to sale items.

Protecting Your Return Option While Testing Fit:

Testing new skates indoors on carpet, with clean socks, and sitting with them on for a while before deciding is the best way to judge fit without risking the 20% to 50% damage fee that applies to skates showing wear. This matters more than it does at most stores since the fee can erase a chunk of whatever discount you paid.

Choosing Between a Refund and Store Credit Return:

A refund to your original payment method has to be requested within 30 days, but a store credit return stretches to 90 days. If you are still deciding whether to keep an item past the first month, opting for store credit keeps that option open longer.

Watching for Brand Specific Codes:

Codes limited to specific brands like Riedell, Moxi, or VNLA sometimes offer a deeper discount than the general sitewide code, particularly on wheel combo kits and bundles. Comparing a brand specific code against the current sitewide offer before applying either one can lead to a bigger discount.

Before You Check Out:

Try skates indoors before deciding to keep them, so a return does not trigger a damage fee, hold onto the original product box in case a return or exchange is needed, check whether a sale section code applies to your cart, and decide between a refund and store credit if you are still unsure about a purchase.
