Frequently Asked Questions
Does Survivor Filter really back its products with a lifetime warranty?
Yes, and customers who've filed claims report the company shipping a free replacement unit within a day or two of reaching out, which is a meaningful safety net for gear you may end up relying on in an actual emergency.
What's the difference between the PRO and the PRO X?
The PRO is a manual hand pump filter, while the PRO X is an electric version that runs on a rechargeable battery or AA batteries and can push around 500ml of water per minute with the push of a button. Both carry the same lifetime warranty.
How much water can one Survivor Filter actually clean before I need a replacement?
The Ultra Filter element can be backwashed and reused for up to 100,000 liters, while the carbon filter and cotton pre-filters are rated for around 1,000 liters each. Buying just the replacement filters instead of a whole new unit is usually the cheaper way to keep your kit running.
Are Survivor Filter products actually tested for viruses, or just bacteria?
They're independently tested at Intertek Labs in the USA and meet NSF/ANSI standards, with results showing removal of 99.999% of tested viruses, bacteria, and parasites, along with a significant reduction in heavy metals like mercury and lead.
What comes in the Survivor Filter Squeeze Kit?
It includes the filter itself, which works as a straw on its own, plus two collapsible canteens so you can filter water using gravity or applied pressure rather than sucking through a straw the whole time.
Does Survivor Filter offer coupon codes on a regular basis?
Yes, sitewide percentage off codes show up fairly regularly, so it's worth checking this page before buying a full filtration kit rather than paying list price.
