Frequently Asked Questions

How much do I need to spend for free shipping?

Orders shipped to a U.S. address qualify for free UPS Ground shipping once the total passes $99. Below that, standard shipping is $9.95, with 2-Day and Overnight options priced separately.

Can I return shoes if I've decided they're not for me?

Yes, unworn and unaltered merchandise can be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date. Original shipping charges are non-refundable, and a $7.95 return shipping fee applies if the return is authorized more than 14 days after your order shipped.

Can I exchange for a different size instead of returning?

Yes, exchanges for the same style and color in a different size or width ship back at no cost. You'll pay for the exchange item once your original item is on its way back, and it ships once both steps are done.

Where do I enter a promo code at checkout?

Add items to your cart and look for the promo code field on the checkout page before submitting payment.

Can I combine more than one promo code?

Cole Haan's checkout accepts one code per order, so a sitewide discount generally can't be stacked with a separate item-specific offer.

Can I return an online order to a physical store?

Yes, online orders can be returned to any Cole Haan retail or outlet store free of charge, except orders paid with Klarna or PayPal and any final sale items, which can't be returned in-store.

What if my order was purchased as a gift?

A gift return refunds to the original payment method used for the purchase, not to the gift recipient. If you'd like to exchange a gift bought online, you'll need to call customer service directly.

Saving Guide

Return or exchange inside the 14-day window whenever possible. Return shipping is free within 14 days of your shipment date; wait longer and a $7.95 fee comes out of your refund, so acting early on a size or color swap costs nothing extra.

Choose the free exchange path over reordering. Exchanging for a different size in the same style ships back for free, which is cheaper than returning an item for a refund and placing a brand-new order that pays shipping again.

Bundle purchases to clear the $99 shipping line. Standard shipping is $9.95 under $99, so combining a smaller accessory purchase with a shoe order to cross that threshold is often worth more than the item alone.

Skip the mail and use a store return. Returning an eligible online order to a physical store is free regardless of order value, which sidesteps both the $7.95 return fee and any shipping wait, as long as your item and payment method qualify.

Shopping Guide

Full-price and outlet purchases have separate return paths. Items bought at full price must go back to a full-price store, and outlet purchases must go back to an outlet store, so check where you bought before planning an in-store return.

Sizing can run differently across collections. Cole Haan's GrandPrø, ØriginalGrand, and ZERØGRAND lines use different sole and upper constructions, so if you've worn one collection before, don't assume the same size carries over exactly to another.
