Frequently Asked Questions

How long is Nest Bedding's mattress trial period?

Eligible adult mattresses come with a 365 night sleep trial starting from the delivery date. Nest Bedding asks for a 30 night adjustment period before a return or exchange is processed, since it can take time to get used to a new mattress.

Are all Nest Bedding mattresses covered by the 365 night trial?

No, the Puffin and Lark kids' mattresses are excluded from the extended trial and must be returned within 30 days of delivery instead.

What condition does a mattress need to be in to qualify for a return?

It needs to be in donatable condition, free of stains, rips, odors, or contamination, with all law labels intact, and it must have been used continuously with a compliant support system throughout the trial.

What is the Lifetime Renewal Exchange?

It's a one time free comfort layer exchange available on qualifying zippered mattress models like the Sparrow, Owl, Starling, and Finch. It lets a shopper swap in a different comfort layer to refresh an aging mattress, and it can be used either inside or outside the standard 365 night trial depending on the model.

Is shipping free on Nest Bedding orders?

Mattress shipping is free within the continental United States. Orders to Alaska and Hawaii, along with Canada, carry additional shipping rates.

How long is the return window for bedding items like sheets and pillows?

Regular bedding and accessories follow a 30 day return window, separate from the extended mattress sleep trial, and items typically need to be in original packaging and resaleable condition.

Can a mattress trial be extended or paused?

No, the 365 night sleep trial applies once per mattress per calendar year and cannot be extended, paused, restarted, or transferred once it begins.

Does Nest Bedding offer discounts for students?

Yes, verified students have been able to access a standalone discount separate from other sitewide Nest Bedding promotions, though it typically can't be combined with other active deals.

Saving Guide

Because a mattress is a bigger investment than most purchases, Nest Bedding's trial length and exchange options matter as much as the discount applied at checkout.

Give a new mattress the full 30 night adjustment period

Since Nest Bedding specifically asks for 30 nights before evaluating whether a mattress is the right fit, resisting the urge to request an early return gives the body time to actually adjust to a new feel, especially when switching mattress types.

Consider a Lifetime Renewal Exchange model for long term flexibility

For anyone unsure about firmness preference, choosing a zippered model like the Sparrow or Owl that includes the Lifetime Renewal Exchange provides a built in way to swap the comfort layer later without buying an entirely new mattress.

Bundle bedding with a mattress purchase to maximize the order

Since mattress shipping is already free and bedding accessories are often discounted during the same sitewide sales, adding sheets, a mattress protector, or pillows to a mattress order can capture more value from a single active promo code.

Time a mattress purchase around a major sale event

Nest Bedding has run some of its deeper markdowns during Labor Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, so timing a mattress purchase, which represents the biggest single expense in an order, around one of those events tends to bring the most meaningful savings.

Unbox the mattress within 30 days of delivery

Because a mattress left sealed in its box for more than 30 days after delivery can lose its return eligibility, it's worth setting it up promptly even if it won't be slept on immediately, to preserve the option to return or exchange later.

Checklist before checkout

Confirm which mattress model is being purchased and whether it includes the Lifetime Renewal Exchange, plan to unbox within 30 days of delivery, and check for an active sitewide sale before applying a standard promo code.
