Frequently Asked Questions

What is Taos Footwear's return policy?

Taos Footwear accepts returns within 30 days from the purchase date for unworn shoes in their original packaging. The brand recommends trying shoes on indoors, ideally on carpet, before deciding whether to keep them, since any signs of outdoor wear can affect return eligibility.

Is return shipping free at Taos Footwear?

No, Taos Footwear does not provide free return shipping, and shipping charges are non-refundable even when a return is otherwise accepted. This is worth factoring in in when deciding whether to order a size you are unsure about.

Are sale items eligible for return at Taos Footwear?

Sale items marked with a discounted price can typically only be exchanged for a different size rather than returned for a full refund, while most accessories and clearance shoes are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange at all.

Does Taos Footwear offer free shipping?

Yes, Taos Footwear offers free shipping on orders over $125 shipped within the contiguous United States, with orders below that threshold charged a standard shipping fee.

How do I start a return with Taos Footwear?

Returns are initiated through an online portal where you request a return authorization, after which you receive a QR code by email rather than needing to print a label or repackage items yourself. Taking the return to the nearest drop-off location with that QR code completes the process.

Can I combine a Taos Footwear promo code with a sale?

Some codes are restricted from combining with other offers or discounts, so applying a sitewide percentage off code to an item that is already marked down for a sale is a common reason a code may not provide additional savings. Checking a code's specific terms before checkout clarifies whether stacking is allowed.

Saving Guide

Because Taos Footwear specializes in comfort engineered shoes that need to be tried on to really evaluate, understanding the brand's careful return process is just as useful as finding a good discount code.

Testing shoes indoors before deciding:

Since Taos specifically recommends trying shoes on indoors, preferably on carpet, before committing to keep them, following this advice protects your ability to return a pair that does not feel right once you have had a chance to walk around the house in them.

Reaching the free shipping threshold:

Because free shipping applies at $125, pairing a pair of shoes with a smaller accessory or a second pair you have been considering is often enough to clear that mark and avoid a separate shipping charge.

Understanding limited flexibility on sale items:

Since sale priced shoes generally can only be exchanged for a different size rather than fully returned, and clearance items are final sale, being more confident about sizing before ordering from these categories helps avoid being stuck with a pair that does not fit.

Weighing the cost of return shipping:

Given that Taos does not cover return shipping and that cost is non-refundable, factoring in this expense before ordering multiple sizes to compare at home helps you decide whether that approach makes financial sense for your specific order.

Before you check out:

Confirm your cart clears $125 for free shipping, check whether the shoe you want is marked as final sale or discount only, and plan to try any new pair on indoors before deciding whether to keep or return it.
