Frequently Asked Questions

Does 1800Lighting price match other retailers?

Yes, through its 110 percent Price Match Guarantee. If the exact same item is found advertised for less within 30 days of your purchase, 1800Lighting refunds 110 percent of the price difference, though shipping and handling charges are excluded from the comparison.

How much do I need to spend for free shipping at 1800Lighting?

Standard ground shipping is free on orders over $49 to the contiguous United States. Oversized, fragile or special order items that ship by truck freight are excluded from that offer.

How long do I have to return an item to 1800Lighting?

Ninety days from delivery, which is longer than most lighting retailers offer. The item needs to come back in its original, unmarked packaging with all parts and installation guides included.

Does 1800Lighting charge a fee to process a return?

Yes, a 10 percent return fee is deducted from the refund to cover return shipping and handling, whether the return happens online or through a showroom.

Are there items 1800Lighting won't take back?

Yes. Custom, special order or made to order products, light bulbs, glass, shades, replacement parts and anything that has already been installed or assembled are not eligible for return.

What should I do if my 1800Lighting order arrives damaged?

Inspect it before scheduling any installation and report the damage right away through live chat, phone or the website's contact form. Waiting until after installation to report a defect can complicate the return, and freight damage specifically needs to be reported within 10 days of delivery.

Does 1800Lighting offer a warranty on electrical fixtures?

Every item comes with a manufacturer's one year warranty covering the electrical function of the fixture, but that coverage depends on the item being installed by a licensed professional.

Can I combine a 1800Lighting promo code with the price match guarantee?

Yes. Promo codes, free shipping and price matching can generally be used together on the same order, though only one promo code applies per purchase.

Does 1800Lighting offer discounts for design professionals?

Yes, through a trade program for designers and contractors that includes special member pricing.

Saving Guide

Why 1800Lighting rewards a closer look at the fine print:

With a 110 percent price match and a 90 day return window, 1800Lighting gives shoppers more room to compare prices and change their mind than most lighting retailers, but the 10 percent return fee and truck freight exclusions are worth knowing before you order.

Using the 110 percent price match:

If a lower advertised price for the same fixture turns up within 30 days of your order, 1800Lighting refunds 110 percent of the difference. Keep a screenshot or link to the competing price handy, since shipping costs are excluded from the comparison and the item has to be an exact match.

Reaching the free shipping threshold:

Standard shipping is free once an order passes $49, though large or special order fixtures shipped by truck freight fall outside that offer, so it is worth checking a product page for shipping details before assuming free delivery applies.

Understanding the 10 percent return fee before you order:

Because 1800Lighting deducts a 10 percent fee from any refund, it often makes more sense to double check dimensions and finish details before ordering a fixture than to plan on returning it if it doesn't fit the room.

Watching for made to order and clearance exclusions:

Custom, special order and made to order fixtures can't be returned at all, and clearance or bundle items are commonly excluded from sitewide promo codes, so it's worth confirming a product's return eligibility on its own page before checkout.

Protecting your electrical warranty:

Since the one year manufacturer's warranty on electrical components requires professional installation, hiring a licensed electrician rather than doing a DIY install keeps that coverage intact if a fixture develops a wiring issue.

Before you check out:

Confirm your order clears $49 for free standard shipping, check whether the item you want is excluded from truck freight shipping, and inspect anything that arrives before you schedule installation so damage gets reported within the window that qualifies for a full refund.
