Frequently Asked Questions
What is the science behind the Allay Lamp's green light?
The lamp's specific wavelength of green light was isolated by Harvard neuroscientist Rami Burstein after research suggested it generates smaller electrical signals in the eye and brain compared to other colors, making it less likely to aggravate migraine or light sensitivity symptoms.
Does Allay Lamp offer a free trial before I commit to buying?
Yes, the company backs its lamp with a 40 day risk free trial. If the lamp does not help, it can be returned within that window for a full refund, and Allay Lamp covers the cost of return shipping.
Why might my Allay Lamp discount code not be working?
Some codes are built for a single lamp purchase and will not apply to multi lamp bundles priced at their own discount, so check whether your cart contains a bundle before assuming the code should stack on top.
Does Allay Lamp offer free shipping?
Free shipping is commonly included on lamp orders, particularly during promotional periods, though it is worth confirming at checkout since standard shipping charges can apply outside of an active sale.
Who invented the Allay Lamp's green light technology?
Rami Burstein, a Harvard Medical School professor and migraine researcher, discovered the calming effect of this narrow green light band, and the lamp itself was engineered with help from a former NASA scientist to bring the original lab grade device down to a consumer price.
What is the difference between the Allay Lamp and the Allay desk light?
The original Allay Lamp is a portable, battery powered light with an adjustable shade, while the desk light variant is built for a stationary desk setup, though both use the same patented green light technology.
How long does the Allay Lamp battery last on a single charge?
The lamp is rated for up to 32 hours of use on a full charge and recharges over a Micro-USB cable, which makes it practical to carry between rooms or bring along when traveling.
Does Allay Lamp donate any proceeds to migraine research?
The company directs a portion of its proceeds back to the Harvard research department connected to Burstein's migraine work, tying ongoing sales to the same research that produced the lamp's light technology.
How often does Allay Lamp run sales on its lamps?
The brand periodically reduces its regular price, sometimes from around $249 down closer to $149, alongside standalone percentage off codes, so it is worth checking this page before buying at full price.
