Frequently Asked Questions
What is GuateGo's cancellation policy?
Cancellations made within 48 hours of your travel date aren't refunded. Cancel between 48 and 72 hours out and you'll get 50% back, while cancelling more than 72 hours before your trip returns 70% of what you paid.
Can I change my travel date instead of cancelling?
Yes, and it's usually the better option. GuateGo lets you modify the date or time of your trip up to a year out, and if the new trip costs the same, you keep 100% of what you already paid to apply toward it.
What if I need to change my pickup or drop off location?
Origin or destination changes are allowed free of charge up to 48 hours before your trip, as long as the new route is available. If the new trip costs more you'll pay the difference, and if it costs less the balance is credited to your account.
How much luggage is included in my fare?
GuateGo's rates include one standard piece of luggage plus a carry on. Extra, oversized, or unusual items like surfboards need to be arranged in advance by WhatsApp or email, since anything not approved ahead of time can be refused at pickup with no refund.
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
Let GuateGo know at least 24 hours before your scheduled travel date so they can help reschedule your shuttle or transfer, subject to vehicle availability.
Is GuateGo responsible for delays from traffic or road conditions?
No. GuateGo's terms specifically exclude responsibility for delays caused by things like mechanical issues, road closures, accidents, or natural events, since these are outside its control.
Can I book a last minute shuttle or transfer?
You can, but last minute purchases, meaning anything booked within 24 hours of travel, aren't eligible for a refund or a modification if your plans change, so it's worth booking as early as you can if there's any chance your schedule shifts.
Should I plan differently around holidays?
Yes. GuateGo recommends building in extra time during high season periods like Holy Week, Christmas, and New Year's, since border crossings and travel times tend to run longer and delays during these windows aren't covered by the standard policy.
