Frequently Asked Questions
Can I return an Ice Barrel if I decide cold plunging isn't for me?
Yes, but only within 30 days of delivery, and the refund comes with a 30% restocking fee that covers return shipping, cleaning, and repackaging. The barrel also needs to go back in its original packaging and condition, or the return won't be accepted at all.
Does the restocking fee apply to accessories too?
Accessories, wear items, and refurbished barrels aren't eligible for return at all, restocking fee or not. If an accessory arrives damaged, that's handled separately through a damage claim rather than a standard return.
What if I cancel before my barrel even ships?
You can cancel any order before it enters the "Shipped" stage, though a 4% cancellation fee applies to cover processing, handling, and inventory costs. Once an order has shipped, it can only be handled as a return under the standard 30-day, 30% restocking fee policy.
Will my original shipping cost come back if I return the barrel?
No, the original shipping charge is non-refundable even on an approved return, and it's on top of the 30% restocking fee taken from the refund.
How much do I need to spend for free shipping?
Free standard shipping applies to orders over $249 within the contiguous United States. International shipping isn't covered by that threshold, and Ice Barrel doesn't currently process international returns at all.
Does modifying my barrel void the warranty or return eligibility?
Yes. Any modification not authorized in writing by Ice Barrel voids both the warranty and eligibility for a return, so it's worth contacting support before attempting a DIY change to the barrel or chiller.
Are there discounts for military members or first responders?
Yes, Ice Barrel partners with GovX to offer an additional $100 off barrels and chillers for verified military members, spouses, dependents, first responders, government employees, and teachers. Verification happens through GovX ID and the discount code is single-use.
Can I pay for an Ice Barrel in installments?
Yes, Ice Barrel offers financing through Affirm, PayPal Pay Later, and Afterpay, which is useful given the barrels are a higher-ticket purchase than most cold therapy accessories.
Does Ice Barrel run sitewide sales I should wait for?
Ice Barrel does run periodic sitewide sales with defined end dates, though pricing during those windows doesn't apply retroactively. If you already placed an order and a sale starts afterward, you'd need to cancel (subject to the 4% fee) and reorder to get the new price.
