Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Smithey coupon code be used on Factory Seconds items?
No. Factory Seconds pieces are already reduced for minor cosmetic imperfections and are sold as final sale, so Smithey does not allow additional discount codes to stack on top of that pricing. These items also cannot be returned or exchanged once purchased.
Why might my Smithey promo code fail to apply?
A code that shows as applied without changing the total is usually being blocked by a minimum spend requirement, a location restriction, or a cart item the offer excludes, such as limited run, hand forged or already discounted pieces. Removing an excluded item and reapplying the code is the quickest way to see which product tripped the exclusion.
What is Smithey's return policy?
Smithey accepts returns or exchanges on new, unused cookware within 45 days of delivery, as long as the item has not been cooked in, seasoned or washed. Engraved cookware and Factory Seconds pieces are excluded from this policy and are considered final sale.
Are Smithey returns free?
Choosing an exchange for store credit comes with a free return label, and once the return is scanned by the courier, a gift card for the full item subtotal is issued to use on smithey.com. Choosing a refund to the original payment method instead still provides a label, but its cost is deducted from the refund, along with the original shipping fee.
Does Smithey offer free shipping?
Standard Ground shipping is a flat $15 on Smithey's own site, and small accessory orders can qualify for cheaper USPS First Class Mail at $4.95. Express and Overnight options are available for an additional variable cost depending on the order and destination, with a 2:00 EST daily cutoff for standard orders.
What is the Smithey Factory Seconds Sale?
Smithey periodically opens a Seconds Sale featuring cookware with minor cosmetic flaws, discounted because the imperfections do not affect cooking performance. These sales run while supplies last, cannot be combined with any other discount, and every sale in this collection is final, with no returns or exchanges accepted.
Does Smithey offer a military or first responder discount?
Yes, current and former US military personnel, along with first responders such as law enforcement, fire and EMS, can access a discount after verifying eligibility through GovX. This discount is separate from sitewide promo codes and is generally single use per verified account.
Does Smithey run Black Friday sales?
Smithey has run Black Friday promotions in past years that included free shipping and bonus items like a complimentary skillet or shears with a qualifying purchase amount, though the specific structure changes each year. Signing up for the Smithey newsletter is the most direct way to see the current year's Black Friday terms as soon as they are announced.
How does the Smithey engraving service affect an order?
Engraved cookware ships as a final sale item that cannot be returned or exchanged, and it adds processing time before shipment, typically no more than two to three extra business days over the standard order. Choosing express shipping on an engraved item moves it ahead in the engraving queue so it still ships within the standard cutoff window.
